Week 2 would cover Advanced Theory and Concepts of Electrocardiogram, and all compulsory education units including the anatomy of the heart, and ECG Lead positioning. Basic life training would also be included in the second week, to which a BLS certificate will be given to you upon your completion. 

Book is already included in the payment package. There is also a specifically required uniform: a full scrub uniform for women, and navy-blue scrub top and jeans for men.

Upon your completion of the training course, here’s what you should know about getting your first monitor technician job. Medical institutions and employers have the following requirements:

  • A High school Diploma 

  • Basic Life Support Certificate certified by the American Heart Association

  • Electrocardiogram rhythm interpretation and/or Electrocardiogram course completion certificate

  • Certified Nursing Assistant License (Note: This is not compulsory in getting the Monitor Technician certificate)

Without these certificates, employers would not have a third-party assurance that these monitor technicians are highly skilled and capable to successfully administer the responsibilities of a monitor technician. According to studies, healthcare facilities prioritize certified EKG technicians in terms of salary and promotion. Monitor Technicians are especially needed and are being hired by medical facilities such as dialysis centers, hospitals, and the like.
